The National Theatre Paint Placement - Caravaggio's 'Doubting Thomas'
This painting was a large 2m x 1m piece created whilst on work experience at The National Theatre. It took three days to paint and was the first time that I had worked from dark to light on a piece of this scale. I chose the Caravaggio painting as it was a strong image and a challenge for me in terms of focusing on the figurative aspect and also in recreating the fabric folds effectively.
